In The Community

As a church, we seek to serve and give hope in our community by:

  • Hosting a Goods & Services Auction, the proceeds of which go to charities
  • Assisting with the Christmas Goodwill Food hampers at Woolwich Community Services
  • Supporting local Elmira charities with our Christmas Eve service offering
  • "Caroling on the corner" during Moonlight Madness in Elmira
  • Supporting the House of Friendship with an annual potato lunch fundraiser
  • Creating quilts and comforters for local and global use

We work for peace in our world by:

  • Volunteering with Mennonite Disaster Service
  • Volunteering at the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale
  • Providing encouragement and prayer support to a member who works in Colombia
  • Providing financial and prayer support to a Bible translator in Africa through Commission to Every Nation

We strive to care for creation by:

  • Generating green energy through our micro-fit solar installation
  • Providing a parking space for the community CarShare program
  • Cleaning up highway garbage with Adopt-A-Road
  • Promoting recycling, and the use of the green bin
  • Discouraging the use of disposable dishes
  • Installing high efficiency lights
  • Planting a vegetable garden, and providing a tree “nursery” space for the Trees for Woolwich program

We believe in partnering with other agencies. The links below are for some of these agencies.
