About Us

Elmira Mennonite Church is an intergenerational congregation with members and participants from 0-101 years of age.  We are thankful to be able to gather weekly for communal worship of the triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).  We gather at other times for faith development and fellowship.

Elmira Mennonite Church is a member of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and Mennonite Church Canada.

Our Beliefs

Everyone is welcome at Elmira Mennonite Church, which has members who have joined from many other Christian backgrounds.  Many of the people in our congregation are Mennonites from birth, and identify with Swiss or Russian heritage.  Our common belief is that God is our Creator, Jesus is the Son of God and our Redeemer, and that the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and Guide.  The Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective informs our faith.

OUR HISTORY

Elmira Mennonite Church was organized as a congregation of the Mennonite Conference of Ontario on August 31, 1924.  Most of the charter members of the congregation had been members of the Floradale Mennonite Church.  Our congregation is now a member of the Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and Mennonite Church Canada.
